Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the most spectacular ways to explore Mountains, Lakes, and waterfall trekking routes in the land of Himalaya. Gokyo Valley is a must visit place for anyone looking for Himalaya environment and adventure, its rugged yet quiet terrain is filled with natural beauties. From Gokyo Valley, you can relish the splendid view of alluring mountains from north to south of Everest region. Major highlights of this trek are gigantic views of various mountains including mighty Mt Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,501m), Makalu (8,470m) Cho You (8,156m), and other snow-clad peaks.  Varieties of flora and fauna and walk across Sagarmatha National Park is another major highlight of this beautiful trek. This trek is mostly popular as a classic trek in Khumbu Area that leads all the way up to holy Gokyo Lake. Best months to choose this trek are March-May and September-December. 
Our wonderful walk commences with a thrilling flight to Lukla with from Kathmandu. Then our trek continues and passes through several refreshing spots including Namche Bazaar, Dole, and Machhaermo before finally reaching Gokyo and its final destination is Gokyo Peak. From Gokyo Peak, Ngozumpa glacier can be seen which the largest glacier in Nepal is. The high point of the trek is at 5,357 meters (Gokyo RI). From Gokyo RI, one can witness the astonishing views of Gokyo Lake as well as magnificent views of various peaks including Lhotse, Kanchanjanga, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and mighty Mount Everest.

Day 1 :- Kathmandu Arrival

This is your first day with Carena Travels and one of our airport representatives will welcome you and direct transfer you to the hotel.

Day 2 :- Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

This is going to be a special day for you where you will get an excellent opportunity to explore some of the most popular historic sites located in Kathmandu including Boudhanath, Monkey Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhanath. Overnight in the same hotel. 

Day 3 :- Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu- Start trek to Phakding

Finally, we fly to Lukla on day 3 enjoying some spectacular views of snow-clad mountains. On reaching Lukla, you can witness the first glimpse of beautiful Mt. Everest up so close. Then we start our trek to Phakding from Lukla and spend overnight there. 

Day 4 :- Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m

From Phakding, the trail heads towards bustling and busy Sherpa Village, Namche Bazaar. Namche is a trading hub of this region where you get many facilities such as restaurants, hotels, internet, bakery and local market for basic shopping. Overnight in Namche. 

Day 5 :- Rest day at Namche Bazaar

We are going to spend one more day in Namche for acclimatization. We will also go on a short excursion around Namche Village on this day. This is the best opportunity to know more about Sherpa Culture for you. Overnight in the same lodge. 

Day 6 :- Trek to Dole 4,110 m - 05 hrs

After 2 rest days, we finally pack our bags and kick off our trek towards Dole and it takes about 5 hours. We mostly go uphill via steep trail and finally reach Dole, where you can witness several snow-clad mountains up so close to you. Overnight in Dole.

Day 7 :- Trek to Machherma 4,470 m -04 hrs

Morning walk from Dole goes along the side of the valley, you can see colorful rhododendron and oak forest, smaller bushes of juniper as you gain altitude slowly. We walk for almost 4 hours and reach Machherma and have lunch there and spend the rest of the time by exploring the village and surroundings. Overnight in Machherma. 

Day 8 :- Trek to Gokyo 4,790m -04 hrs

Finally here is the day where we reach our ultimate destination, Gokyo Valley. Our trail goes uphill on the banks of Dudh Koshi River with an amazing view of the Khumbu Himalayas, we pass a few ancient monasteries and chortens before arriving at the first Gokyo Lake. Our walk continues across moraines of Ngozumpa Glacier, we arrive at the second lake, and finally at the third lake, behind which beautiful Sherpa village of Gokyo resides. Overnight in Gokyo. 

Day 9 :- Morning hike to Gokyo-Ri and walk to Na or beyond - 04 hrs

We will spend the whole day by exploring Gokyo Valley surroundings and go for a hike to Gokyo RI and walk to Na. Gokyo RI is the highest point of our trek that offers some of the most amazing landscapes you will ever see. Overnight Stay.

Day 10 :- Trek to Phortse village 3, 810m from Gokyo Valley - 04 hrs

Today we trek mostly downhill to the less trekked area and 4 hours of the continuous walk takes us to Phortse Village. Overnight in Phortse Village. 

Day 11 :- Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m from Phortse Village – 05 hrs

We leave Phortse village early morning with superb views of Amadablam, we walk gradually path uphill to reach upper Pangboche after a rest with lunch break few hours of ups and downs take us to historic Thyangboche Monastery where we will spend overnight.

Day 12 :- Trek to Monjo 2,840m from Thyangboche via Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs

From now on, we feel like losing much altitude which makes us feel much stronger and fresh than before. Early morning walk from Thyangboche leads back to Namche Bazaar and then further descend back takes us to Monjo for an overnight stop before Lukla.

Day 13 :- Trek to Lukla

The trail steeply goes downhill through Rhododendron, Pine and Oak forest. We walk for 6 hours to Lukla via several refreshing spots like Monju, banker, Phakding, Ghats Khola, Chaurikharka, Chheplung. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 14 :- Fly back to Kathmandu

Today we fly back to Kathmandu that takes around 35-40 minutes and this thrilling flight itself is also a major highlight of this trek. Overnight stay at hotel in Thamel. 

Day 15 :- Departure

Final Day with us and one of our airport representatives will drop you to the airport for your flight back home.
