Everest Three Passes Trek is one of the best adventure things to do in Nepal where you get to cross three high passes -  Kongma La Pass, Cho La Pass, and Renjo La Pass. Most of the trail lies in a remote area yet, is beautifully blessed by nature. It offers a mesmerizing view of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, and Mount Makalu making the trek more joyful and adventurous. Not only three high passes are the main highlights of this trek, but you also get to step on the base camp of world’s highest mountain, Everest Base Camp, hike to Kala Patthar and Gokyo Ri; and tour to Gokyo Lakes. This is truly a challenging adventure fits best to the experienced trekkers intent on crossing the high altitude passes with the hike to the smaller peaks to explore the Himalayan beauties.
We start Everest Three Passes Trek as we board a scenic mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek towards Namche Bazar, the bustling village of Sherpas. After acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar for two continuous nights, we follow the trail towards Tengboche, Dingboche. We take for a day at Chukkung before crossing the first high pass of Kongma La at an altitude of 5,535m. Then we continue our trek and step on Everest base camp via Lobuche and Gorakshep followed by a hike up to Kala Patthar at an altitude of 5,545m for panoramic views of snow-clad mountains. Again we resume our trek via Dzongla before crossing the next high pass of Cho La that finally lead us to unspoiled glacier lakes of Gokyo. We may hike up to Gokyo Ri for great panoramic views and make our way towards the final high pass of Renjo La. We descend towards Lukla via the same route on our way back home and take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu where Everest Three Passes Trek finally ends.

Day 1 :- Kathmandu Arrival

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, representative of Carena Treks will pick you and direct transfer you to the hotel. In the hotel, you’ll meet your trekking guide who will tell you all about Everest Three Passes Trek and details. Overnight Stay. 

Day 2 :- Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

After early morning breakfast, we will visit some of the historical places located in Kathmandu City that includes a quick tour to Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan Durbar Square and Monkey Temple. Overnight Stay at the same hotel. 


Day 3 :- Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding after lunch

Finally, we head towards our trekking point on a thrilling flight to Lukla from Kathmandu where you get to see beautiful clouds over snow-clad mountains. Then we will have lunch at a lodge in Lukla and start our trek to Phakding from Lukla trekking point. Overnight in Phakding. 

Day 4 :- Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs

After breakfast, we continue our trek towards the most popular Sherpa Village enjoying some beautiful landscapes, varieties of flora and fauna and surrounding natural beauties. Namche bazar offers beautiful Himalayan views, cultural insights, and warm hospitality. Overnight in Namche. 

Day 5 :- Rest day at Namche Bazaar

It is our rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization because it is much-needed rest as further trek going to be more difficult and we need to get used to with an elevation otherwise it will be more difficult for you to trek further. You make explore local markets, take a short hike near Namche or just rest and prepare for the next day trek. Overnight in Namche. 

Day 6 :- Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m

We begin our trek early morning on an easy trail to Phunki Thanga. From Phunkin Thanga we ascend towards Thyangboche village which is home to the largest monastery in the Everest region, Thyangboche Monastery. The monastery is located within the Sagarmatha National Park and provides the most beautiful views of the highest mountain Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Lhotse.

Day 7 :- Trek to Dingboche 4,260m from Thyangboche – 05 hrs

Dingboche is a popular refreshing stop for trekkers and climbers headed to Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam. It is a beautiful village enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, terraced fields, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold wind and grazing animals. Overnight in Dingboche. 

Day 8 :- Trek to Chhukung 4,750m from Dingboche- 04 hrs

4 hours of continuous walk from Dingboche takes us to the beautiful valley of Chhukung at an elevation of 4,750m where we are going to spend an overnight with camping night. 

Day 9 :- Trek to Kongmo-la 5,535m and to Lobuche 4,928m

After having light breakfast early morning, we continue our trek to reach the first high pass of our trek i.e. Khongma la pass. The pass is covered by Buddhist Prayer flag and Cairns. Then we turn north by Khumbu Glacier that takes us to Lobuche for an overnight stay. 

Day 10 :- Trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) 5,364m and return to Gorakshep 5,180m

Now, our trail follows a windy and rocky path as we head towards Everest Base Camp from Lobuche with an amazing view of Khumbutse, Nuptse, etc. Our trail goes along the side of Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep and we have lunch on our way and continue our trek towards world’s highest base camp Everest Base Camp. We cannot see Mt. Everest from its base camp but it offers a fantastic view of Khumbu Icefall. Overnight in Gorakshep. 

Day 11 :- Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Dzongla 4,240m

Hike to Kala Patthar is also a major highlight of this trek as it offers the best view of Mt. Everest along with other neighboring mountains. Then we hike down towards Dzongla for an overnight stay. 

Day 12 :- Cross over Tsho-la (Cho) pass 5,367m down to Thanknak 4,750m

We get out of our room and we are greeted by the impressive sight of Cholatse looming over. It is going to be one of the tough days of our trek as we going to cross 2nd high pass of our trek, Cho La Pass. Cho La Pass situated at an altitude of 5,367m. The way to Cho-La is quite challenging, especially in snow conditions, from the top it offers astonishing views of giant mountains and of Cholatse Glacier. Overnight in Thanknak.

Day 13 :- Trek to Gokyo 4,750 m - 04 hrs

Today, we walk on an easy trail to Gokyo on the trail near Na a place at the foot of Ngozumba glacier. We walk gradually that leads us to Gokyo Lake and after the first lake and second lake then reaching the third lake known as Dudh Pokhari at an altitude of 4,790 meters. Overnight in Gokyo.

Day 14 :- At Gokyo hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357m

Early morning hike to Gokyo Ri at an elevation of 5,357m which is one of the major highlights of this adventure with the panorama of world’s highest mountain, Everest,  Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Taweche, Cholatse, etc.  Overnight in Gokyo. 

Day 15 :- Cross Renjo-la 5,360m and descend to Lungdeng 4,600 m - 06 hrs

Finally, this is the day we are going to cross the final high pass of our trek called Renjo-La-Pass at an altitude of 5,360m. Spectacular Mountain View and glacier can be seen from the top of the Renjo-La-Pass. Then we hike down to Lungdeng for an overnight stay. 

Day 16 :- Trek to Thame 3,800 m - 05 hours

From now on, the trek will be a bit easier than before as we already crossed 3 high passes on high altitude. From Lungdeng, we walk downwards about 5 hours to arrive at Thame. We walk gradually mostly enjoying mountain environment and human settlements. Overnight in Thame.

Day 17 :- Trek to Monjo 2,840 m via Namche Bazaar - 05 hrs

Then we trek down to famous refreshing spot for trekker and mountain climbers Monjo and Namche. We will have lunch at Monjo and trek down to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay. In Namche Bazaar, you can explore about Sherpa Culture, Himalayan environment and Nepali cuisine.

Day 18 :- Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs

This is our last day of Everest 3 Passes Trek as we trek down to Lukla. You can meet your colleagues and enjoy a special moment after the long and exhausting trek. Sing, Dance, Barbeque, Camping, do whatever you like to do like this the last day of our trek. Overnight stay in Lukla.

Day 19 :- Fly back to Kathmandu

Finally, we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla on a thrilling flight over the flappy cloud and the White Mountains. Overnight in Thamel.

Day 20 :- International Departure

This is your last day with Carena Treks, so one of our airport representatives will drop you to the airport for your flight back home.
